A Biblical Timeline Chart Presents A Creative Approach To Aid And Help Teach Biblical Events And Characters And Principles

In a Bible group years ago, somebody, who had been a Christian and been involved in the local Church for over 15 years, asserted that,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they weren't referring to the pre-mosaic law) I wonder just how many Christians will really notice the inaccuracy in this assertion. Moses came about five hundred years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since then made up a Bible chronological chart and explained graphically the time period of individuals and occasions.

Years ago, I was teaching on the life, burial, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and a retired pastor and powerful preacher of Scripture, who had been in the ministry for forty years, came up and reproved me smartly over some fascinating points I made and he said 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I quietly asked him if I had been saying anything of a heretical nature at all, to which he replied"No". I continued on to spell out that in the case of that particular verse, it was not speaking to exploring the Bible but to the false teaching and school of thought of Gnosticism, but he wouldn't accept it. So, how can a forty year minister & worker in the Gospel, not understand and know about a thing that probably 1/2 the books of the New Testament refer to?
How can he understand and teach the Bible fully without being aware of a thing that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to figure out these things and be able to understand their Bible effectively, if they are not informed?
Let's us as tutors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and His plan into a logical whole that our people are able to draw on for the remainder of their lives, to help them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better interpret the Bible to order our lives by.
It's not difficult to do, and it is not boring if we're ready to put in a bit of study with prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can employ a Bible Timeline too.
